Dismal from Fearmakers Studios

There's a new swamp cannibal movie in post production (and who doesn't like swamp cannibal movies?) that's due to be released at the end of 2008 or the beginning of 2009. Developed by independent horror house Fearmakers Studios, DISMAL is a story about college students who are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Guess who's for dinner!
Details about this flick have been kept pretty well under wraps so far, but information is starting to leak out. A development company named "Early County 2055" in Early County Georgia where the film was shot has made mention of the film in their latest advertising materials.
Although a trailer is available on the DISMAL website, word on the street is that further details about the film will be available after a special screening later this year. The special screening date and location remains undisclosed and closed to the public at this time. Perhaps the screening is only open to swamp cannibals. Freshman kabobs anyone?

Cryptic Magazine has revamped their website...and what a badly needed revamp it was. Get more info than ever before, and buy issues, at the new site. Horror news, horror comics, horror effects are all yours in this very cool magazine.
You can find the magazine in the horror section of bookstores across the US and Canada--but they go fast, so grab 'em when you see 'em.

Learn How To Do Halloween Makeup
This is the best deal going if you want to do your own makeup for Halloween instead of wearing a hot and sweaty rubber mask this year. Tempe Entertainment's "Basic How-To Holloween Makeups" DVD sells for just $5.99 from their web site!
Sure, the DVD looks a little dated, but the makeup techniques are timeless. The instructions start off with very simple makeups and move to more complex and interesting work. My favorite is the evil clown...you've got to see it.
Keep in mind, this instructional tape is for the beginner, but will provide you with enough instruction to let your imagination run wild. Tempe Entertainment is providing a GREAT DEAL on this DVD for only $5.99, so you better snap it up before it's gone!

Iron Man in 2008
The film adaptation of Marval's comic character Iron Man is due to be released in May 2008. The film, ironically titled IRON MAN, is being directed by Jon Favreau and stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man/Tony Stark and Gwyneth Paltrow as Virginia "Pepper" Potts. Ok, so the title of the film isn't ironic, but I couldn't resist writing the line anyway.
Leslie Bibb (TALLADEGA NIGHTS: THE BALLAD OF RICKY BOBBY) is also on the cast list, but without a character name as of yet.
The IRON MAN site doesn't have much on it yet, but stay tuned for more as the 2007 summer movie season closes.
